Welcome to Zion Square!

This site is the focal point of a group of academics, bloggers, journalists, legal professionals, policy wonks, security experts and more, all with extensive knowledge of Israel and the Middle East. Our goal is to create a single point of reference where people around the world can learn about Israel, from the most detailed legal analysis, historical context, religious views, and even for a bit of humor.

The site will be rolling out slowly in the coming weeks as we implement different features of the site and begin to publish the first expert articles. Come back often to see what we’re up to, as the site gets up to full speed. In the meantime, you can follow us on Twitter (twitter.com/zionsquare_com) or Facebook (facebook.com/zionsquare).

In the meantime we’ve posted a series of videos you should find interesting and informative. Please get involved, ask questions in the comments, or send us suggestions via our Contact form.

Thank you,

The Zion Square Team

Congratulations on your new site. As for suggestions the biggest one I would offer is longevity. Any blog gains power the longer it stays online and active. As you can well imagine already your blog is coming under criticism and so the best revenge is for ZionSquare.com to still be up and posting five years from now. Keep writing and I will keep reading.

    Good Luck

Yisrael, your concept is not far off from what we are currently planning. Working out the details takes time, however, and we want to make sure all the i’s are dotted and the t’s crossed before we launch the full version of this site. We will be posting more in the future about the direction of the site.

  3. A great initiative.

I have been trying to interest friends to establish a “One-Stop Shop Site” for major issues/themes connected to Israel’s standing in the world. I found myself winding down my day (and night) but all of a sudden realizing that I didn’t get to X, Y or Z blogs/news sites and then thinking, why don’t we have something like Drudgereport or Real Clear Politics, plain and simple and skeleton frame. We have 10 themes at most, start off with 10 bloggers, allow them 2-3 posts a day in a ‘tease’ fashion (title, 25 words intro and link to each of our blogs [so traffic isn't lost]) and even perhaps recommended articles from around the Internet/Blogosphere.

The site would provide varied directions of response that will allow every surfer to adopt that which appeals to him.

The site will present multiple Hasbara strategies: historical facts, emotion, defense, offense, cynicism, humor, the positive, future forecasts, revealing the truth, uncovering the financial support links of terror-supporting “charities”, and much more.

This “One-Stop Shop Site” is still being conceptualized but one suggestion is as follows:

It will be divided three ways: by topic theme; blogger persuasion; target audience category.

Some one dozen bloggers of various types will upload 2-3 blog posts daily according to themes such as Media Bias, Terror & Security, Law, Boycott, Sanction & Disinvestment, Zionist History, Antisemitism/Antizionism, Arabs in Israel, World of Islam, etc. which will, in addition, be tagged according to another level of target audience interest such as environmentalists, feminists, philosophy, civili liberties, etc. Each post will be just a headline and 30 word introduction referring to the blogger thus ensuring high traffic and independence as well as the plurality and openess of opinion that will attract many interested parties.

If this site can provide that ‘menu’, all power to you.

As one who is eager to ensure the relevant people worldwide are informed of the proper legal aspect of the Arab Israeli conflict, and the way to bring about an accommodation of peaceful coexistence between Arab and Jew, between the Muslim-Arab world and the independent nation-state of the Jewish people, I urge you to review the following material and publicize it as much as you can:
